Some traditions have evolved over the years. Here are some:

In the past:

· Chandelier Restaurant — suffered total fire destruction in 1998. Prior to this the Chandelier was a great gathering location for après ski.

· Graham's Restaurant — great social atmosphere in the 70's and 80's — now closed

· Innisfree — More upscale restaurant, owners opened a new restaurant in Bellingham in 1997

In the present:

· July 1st and 4th barbecue held annually at the Log Cabin picnic shelter

· Labor Day corn roast held at the same location annually

· New Year's Eve celebration held at the Club House annually

· New Year's Day Nooksack Polar Bear Swim held at 1 pm in front of the Club House

· Ski to Sea Relay Race, last weekend in May — watch for bikers on Mt. Baker Highway!

   Events:

· Kayak and river rafters pass Snowater on the Nooksack throughout the summer months

· Many families and friends gather at the several picnic sites located throughout the Snowater property to barbecue and enjoy the outdoors

· The flood of 1986 — After heavy November rains and unseasonably early melting of the winter snow pack, the Nooksack River and surrounding creeks were swollen to the point of flooding. Serious damage was done at Glacier Creek, Canyon Creek and Boulder Creek, and the Mt. Baker Highway was impassable at Boulder Creek. The community, including Snowater, came together to help and assist as best they could
